Before you can ask your homeroom teacher to help with chores, you must initiate her specific storyline. After completing the second palace, follow the event with Ryuji and Mishima where you investigate a maid service hotline. This encounter will eventually allow you to call her from the yellow phone inside Café Leblanc during the night.
Note that establishing this connection requires your character to reach Level 3 in the Guts social stat. Each session with her costs 5,000 yen initially, making it important to manage your funds early in the game. Consistent interaction during her available days will steadily increase your rank and unlock new abilities.
Delegating the Laundry Chore
Once you reach Rank 3 with the Temperance Confidant, you gain the ability to request her assistance for basic tasks. To delegate the chore, head over to the washing machines located across the street from Café Leblanc. When interacting with the laundry unit, the game will present an option to call Kawakami to handle it for you.
Utilizing this option allows you to spend your immediate time slot reading, crafting tools, or studying instead of waiting for clothes to wash. She will clean the dirty armor pieces you find in Palaces and Mementos, turning them into useful equipment. This system ensures you never waste a valuable afternoon or evening segment just to get clean gear.
Reaching the Max Rank Benefit
While the early ranks provide excellent time-saving benefits, reaching Rank 10 completely changes your daily gameplay loop. The ultimate ability, Special Massage, allows you to regain your evening slot even after spending the day exploring a Palace or Mementos. Normally, your character returns home too exhausted to leave Leblanc or perform complex actions.
With this final perk unlocked, you simply need to request a massage from the counter phone after returning from the Metaverse. This completely removes the exhaustion penalty and gives you full freedom to pursue evening confidants or increase your stats. Maximizing this relationship early in the school year provides a massive advantage for completing the rest of the game.
